The number of companies with more than 500 employees has jumped nearly fourfold in the past five years.
In 2017, there were 5,828 companies with 100,000 employees, according to research firm Technomic.
The company says the average employee makes $47,200, which makes it the sixth highest average salary in the US.
The growth of these companies has been driven by a number of factors, including automation, globalization and the rising cost of living.
But one of the most notable has been the surge in technology companies hiring.
“Technology companies have been investing heavily in research and development and are looking to hire as many employees as possible,” says Tristan Biddle, CEO of the American Technology Council.
“This is an exciting time to be an American worker.
It’s a good time to grow our workforce.”

But the hiring boom has been fueled by a few factors.
Companies have become more efficient in their use of technology, says Biddle.
“I think that’s a big driver for the growth of tech companies,” he says.
Companies are also increasingly looking for employees who are highly motivated, motivated by their passion for the industry, and who have a “well-rounded and deep understanding of technology.”
Tech companies are increasingly hiring, but the hiring surge is driven by automation.
In the past, companies would hire from a pool of candidates based on the best of the best applicants, says John S. Kocher, senior vice president and general manager of the Institute for Talent and the Workforce.
“The pool is much more diverse now, and that’s because there are more people from different backgrounds and backgrounds are now able to compete with each other.”
The number one reason companies are moving to hire more workers is technology, according the American Society of Civil Engineers.
The group says automation has made it easier to automate tasks that were previously done by human workers, like sorting data.
“It has made things so much easier for people to do things more efficiently and to have better results,” Koccher says.
Automation also means that workers who previously had to work in a cubicle, or with no breaks, can now work from home, with no interruptions.
“That’s what is driving the tech growth,” says Biddles.
“They are also looking for more flexibility.”
Tech has made life easier for some people.
“We’re seeing more people with disabilities, but there’s a lot of other things that make life easier, too,” Biddle says.
“For example, the healthcare industry has been looking for the next generation of workers to help run the businesses and help run them in the future.
We see that as a really important factor in the success of these businesses.”
