Chelsea forward Cucumis Cucuoli left his hometown of Barceloneta on Thursday, citing a health problem.
Cucunil was playing for Espanyol at the time of his departure.
Chelsea released a statement to the media on Friday.
“We wish Chelsea all the best and appreciate his contributions to the team,” the club said.
“Cucu is in good spirits and is looking forward to being with his family for Christmas.”

(AP Photo/Fabrizio Bensch) Chelsea’s first team players are expected to depart on Monday, as the club attempts to re-shape its squad.
It is the first time since Mourinho left Stamford Bridge in August that a major change has been announced in a major transfer window.
It was unclear how many players would leave, and Mourinho said it could range from as few as three to as many as eight.
“It will be difficult, because this is the second time in four years that Chelsea have been in the Champions League,” he said.
Cymudu’s departure comes just one week after Cucungu left Barceloeta, and two weeks after Cymu joined Espanyal.
