DENVER — Denver-based Stevia Leaves Inc. is seeking to sell its cannabis-infused butter to U: U. S. customers through a website and mobile app.
The company plans to sell a 12-pack of Stevias infused with the herb in Denver on Friday, its first official sale in the U. States.
Stevía Leaves spokeswoman Heather Krieger said the product will be available in stores beginning at 9 a.m.
The Butter is a combination of oils and creams, which will be made available at a $5.95 wholesale price and a $8.95 retail price.
Kriege said the company has about 1,000 employees and that the business will employ up to 100 people.
The sale is not the first time the company, based in Aurora, Colo., has announced plans to expand its U., S. business.
Last month, Steviato leaves sold in Denver, but not in large quantities, and it was unclear whether it would be the first of its kind in the country.
In February, the company sold about 1 million ounces of Stavias in the United States, the first such sale in Denver since the legalization of recreational marijuana.
In May, Stavia Leaves said it would also start selling its butter in Colorado, and in August, it said it was looking to sell to Oregon, Nevada and Washington.
